Hi Richard, Guys, Gals, Kay, Harvey, David, IPC LF Listservers,

HP-Richard these votes do mean something important to RoHS, WEEE compliance
since each country has to transpose the EU legislation into their own
country (member state) laws, provide a legislative pointer to EU law and
provide every day performance. Plus they have to do reporting and may have
to pay fines to the EU bureaucracy. (p.s. I love the German's word for
bureaucracy since it is longgggg)

What is important, is if all of our efforts working to comply with the EU's
RoHS and WEEE falls apart and we the developers and manufacturers are left
holding "thin air".

In the EU it makes a difference as well since it means inter-country, inter-
world commerce goes back a step.

SO, We have to be interested since it might affect how we supply product
and whether it is a smart decision to STOP RoHS implementation or to
continue as if we are

As one poster noted, it is interesting/disturbing that the two of the
initial EU launch states France and the Netherlands both voted "NoN"
or "No" with wide margins.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
