Bill,
The SMTA in Orange County had their May meeting on this topic. You might
take a look at Kathy Palumbo's write up in the SMTA newsletter
http://www.laocsmta.org/newsletter/current.pdf on pages 3-5.
You can get more info on the STABLCOR material at www.thermalworks.com/ .
To my knowledge they've got three licensees of the process (Cirtech, DDI
and Winonics)all are Orange County board shops. You might contact them to
get an idea on what the pricing "up charge" is on using this material.

Has any of you had any experience with the STABLCOR materials for boards? I
was just reading an article in VMEbus Systems magazine about it and noticed
they are claiming that their ST600 material has almost 2 times the
conductivity of copper and the CTE is actually a little negative as
temperature rises... I'm not sure that is a good feature but the rate of
change is very small compared to FR4 and Copper. The material is also about
1/4 the density of copper so it weighs less... The only thing they don't
highlight is the cost... which speaks volumes... I would be curious to know
if anyone has used it and what their results were.
