Hi Lon,
You should not have an issue as long as you use a polyimide base and a
polyimide covercoat - not a flexible soldermask. The part can take one
crease but if you open it and close the flex , it will probably fail. You
obviously cannot bend through the nickel/gold. If you want to be extra sure
build it as an adhesiveless with a thinner kapton covercoat. Good Luck.

Subject: [TN] Bending flex 90 deg
Dear Technetters,
What type of flex can I best use to bend 90 degrees?
Our custormer wants to glue the flex inside a metal box. The radius in the
corners should be as small as possible. (nearly zero)
Copper thickness about 30micron, goldfinish. The flex is designed with a lot
of parallel tracks, single sided.
Thanks in advance
