Lee makes a good point about using gloves - you need to change the
gloves when needed and also continue to observe good handling practices
when gloved.

Subject: Re: [TN] Gloves for handling Immersion Silver finished boards

Kaye

I installed the first immersion silver process in North America in 1995
at the AT&T plant in Richmond. At the time, we were using cotton gloves
to handle all product. After some enlighten changes were made, we were
able to do away with this superstition and our quality actually
improved. Cotton gloves transfer ever undesirable contaminate on to the
board. I would avoid them and any other glove unless safety is an issue.

Best regards

Subject: [TN] Gloves for handling Immersion Silver finished boards

  Hi Technet,

Can anyone share what type of glove should be used when
  handling immersion silver boards?

If the immersion silver manufacturers say that rubber bands are
detrimental to the IAg finish, would latex gloves be bad also?
Are cotton gloves the answer? Is there another type of glove that
  is better?

I have not been able to identify exactly what glove to use.
Or, maybe the type of glove is not even an issue?

  Thanks in advance,

  Kaye Clayo
