All yery well but not much substance to go on and unfortunately most of the actual documents are restricted access which is why industry in general is always last at seeing what is proposed!

I find it preposterous that TC's can restrict general access to documents which will eventually impinge on industry practise, especially as it is apparent that TC's are not sufficiently cognizant of all the foreseeable issues as so well demonstrated in the RoHS and WEEE fiasco that industry is now trying to address.

Regards,

Chris

The environment and TC work: strategies and issues

The March meeting of the IEC Advisory Committee on Environmental Aspects'

(ACEA) generated a short report

http://www.iec.ch/support/tcnews/2005/tcn_0505/acea_meeting.htm?mlref=tcnews

The report underlines some of the difficulties faced in finding a practical

and affordable way of testing for the presence of restricted substances.

It also has links to other environmental related work in IEC.
