Another discrepancy is the underscore never mentioned in the directive

but added into 50419 - the underscore is a good idea but could be used

by the legal beagles to nit pick.

I think that the discrepancy between the Directive and CENELEC's

standard EN50419 is where the marking should appear if it is not

possible to mark the product itself because of its size or function.



The Directive says it should be put on the packaging and instructions

and warranty.



EN50419 says it should be put on a flag on the supply cord and

instructions and warranty, or, "if none of the above applies", on the

packaging.



Looks like doing all 4, as far as possible, is a relatively safe option.

Remember that individual member states can adopt more demanding

requirements than defined in the Directive, so there could be more.
