Lighten up a little.
These are children's books!!
If this was part of a WEEE campaign, I suspect they would have named one
of the characters for WEEE.
The closest was Katchie who collects Fluorescent tubes

Our Wheelie Bin World characters are designed to be role models for
children aged 4 to 10 years old. Wheelie the main character from the
Collectors of Cullompton series of books tells the stories of the other
26 characters as their go about their daily life collecting recyclable
materials doing their bit to save the planet.

Hi Scott, IPC LF Listservers,

<http://www.wheelieworld.com/>

Maybe this will work in England yet it just seems like so much fun that
it
misses some point. Now I do know that the UK and others are using
this "happy happy" marketing to encourage WEEE yet this stuff doesn't
work.

Over here over many years we have had many "happy happy" campaigns like
those against smoking or any-old-sex habits. They seem to make the bad
too
much fun, which tends to confuse the mind by obsuring the objectice. A
little bit of SIN goes a long way.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
