It sounds so good..

Unfortunately, so little companies are even conscious of the advantage of
the IPC-356.. and if the CAD software does not yet automatically supply it,
please request it.

Any idea of the percentage of PCB orders that are using IPC-356 ???

Can PCB manufacturers give an idea of the percentage of jobs they get with
it???

I seen Electrically Tested PCB's that were missing an inner layer... because
they used the Golden board approach...

Very Best regards

Objet : Re: [TN] Golden Board Electrical test

To add Marsal response.

The golden board goes through shorts and opens test,
visual QC and then passed. This board the becomes the
reference that all other boards are then check by.

However, this not an electrical netlist test.
If the generated Gerber artwork had an error during output at
the design phase, the artwork produced may not match the intended
schematic.

At this point all boards match each other and are declared "good",
But, the boards don't match the schematic.

This is the reason for the "IPC-356" netlist being included with all
jobs going to fabrication. All designs that leave our shop must have
an extract IPC-356 netlist for the fab shop to verify artwork shipped.

Hope this helps.
