Is the board material FR-4 or something else?

Another thought would be a Carrier capable of going thru SMT and the
Wave Solder processes Where you do not remove the panel/array until
after Wave.

We sometimes perform "V"-scoring on boards less than 0.031" (0.8mm)
thick down to 0.0010" (0.25mm) on a 16" x 12" panel. Albeit very flimsy,
it does hold together, but I suspect our customer is only hand soldering
thus there are no sagging issues invloved

I'm not positive, but I think the "thinness" of the board at .031"
prohibits using
v-scoring; there would be very little residual material to hold the
boards

together in the assembly panel - they would probably snap apart just
picking them up .....

Just curious, but would it not have been easier to v-score the pcbs in
the panel instead of router the edge and the mouse-bites?

Hi all!

I'm sure a lot of us have heard the saying; "Necessity is the Mother of
Invention", well I ran across a situation where it became necessary to
come up with something to solve a problem.

We have this assembly here that is in a vey fragile panel. The
individual board is only 1-inch wide, about 4.5-inches long,
.031 thick, and double-sided SMT that is fairly dense.
