The sculpture shown in the photo linked by John Burke is entertaining.
However, as you read this kind of "public information", look for any
acknowledgement that WEEE constitutes one percent of municipal solid
waste.
What you'll find instead is scare terms like "mountain" and "crisis".
The advocates don't seem to care about the facts, just the sensation.
They may just feel that they are doing something useful to help the
environment. On the other hand, they may have designs on scaring up
contributions to their organization, or they may be trying to exaggerate
the benefit of recycling to soften people up so they are more willing to
subsidize it once they are forced to do so.
