As I told Fred Cygnarowicz today that it is best to minimize exposure to moisture after cleaning prior to coating so you do not trap moisture under the coating. If we were in a perfect world where we could guarantee no contamination exists, moisture should not be problem. Unfortunately things are not always perfect. While it is true that any conformal coating will eventually absorbe moisture, why hasten the process by putting moisture in the board prior to coating. My recommendation is that if you cannot coat in a timely manner after cleaning, then store the PWA in a vacuum sealed ESD bag till you can coat, or store the PWA in dry box at 5% humidity, similar to storing moisture sensitive parts.

          Question to the forum:
What is the time window between cleaning/bake dry and Conformal Coating? I hear from 32 hours to indefinite. What is your experience?
                        Best Regards,
                          Ramon
