This question comes up periodically. I maintain that, short circuit
apart, the answer is no. The one possible exception is if you are using
it close to a Hall-effect device, while calibrating the circuit. Som
state that some ferrites can be affected, but I state that a) the field
from a screwdriver is too weak and b) exposure to a magnetic field, at
the worst will push a ferrite slightly along the hysteresis curve, but
it will be shoved back as soon as an AC field is experienced.
