Hi Barry,
I have seen very professional forms used by teir 2 CM's and I have seen
web-based forms from tier 1 CM's. As far as the formats, they are pretty
identical.
The more detail the better, ie. paste type, reflow temp, line, issues/action
items by sequence in process, etc.

From my experience, an NPI production run is a higher volume run prior to
production. A product is not deemed ready for production until most, if not
all of the action item / issues are resolved. Then manufacturing will
consider the product capable of a production run where no engineers need to
oversee the process.

Subject: [TN] NPI post mortem [faked-from][mx]

Good Afternoon TechNetters.

Was wondering if there was anybody out there that might be willing to
provide me with
some Sample Post Mortem reports for NPI's. Do you use A Form or just write
down
the Issues willy nilly ? I am just fishing here....

We are a Custom Manufacturer the Does not design product. How ever, we are
asked
to provide feedback to our customers on most if not all NPI's that we run.

Also, some one mentioned to me that There is a difference from NPI proto to
NPI Production run.
I would like to solicit some thoughts on this subject and ask What that
difference might be ?

I thank you in advance.

Barry Gallegos
NPI Coordinator.
