We've found that naked operators sitting on metal stools works pretty good. We keep about 1" of water on the floor just to make sure that the stools make good contact ;-) We have found that the high voltage test people aren't real crazy about this arrangement!

Actually, I've never heard of seats being grounded as a requirement. Work stations that are properly grounded and operators that are properly connected with a wrist strap should be the basic requirement. Other situations may require other preventative measures like air ionizers but on an as required basis.
