Hehehe...you're right George, I was gonna bring that up.

I got into big trouble one time at my first duty station at
NAS Whiting field in Milton, Florida. I was a plane captain
on the flight line in VT-3. We flew T-28's 24-7 training Navy
pilots.

One day when things were kinda' slow, I thought I'd impress
our Senior Chief by straightening-up things in our spaces, and
make a fresh pot of coffee. I emptied out the grounds and noticed
that the inside of the pot looked like it hadn't been ever cleaned,
so I did....it took me a while too.

The Senior Chief took his first cup of coffee back to his desk after
I had cleaned the pot, and almost gagged when he took his first sip.

He walked over to the pot and took off the lid and screamed; "Who
in the hell ruined our coffee pot?"

I timidly replied; "I..I..I just finished cleaning it sir."

The Senior Chief bellowed; "Don't call me sir, and do you know how
long it took to get that pot broke in? Dammit, it'll be another 3-months
before we'll get a decent cup of coffee out of that pot! Do not, I repeat,
do not, ever clean the coffee pot again!"

I learned then that Navy Chiefs are pretty particular about their coffee...

Kind regards,

You have obviously never tasted US Navy Coffee.

It's at it's best after it's sat and boiled all night :)

American coffee is browned-off water. After two ristretti, I can piss
stronger than American coffee. But be warned, although it's low in
flavour and colour, it is very high in caffeine partly because of the
Colombian beans and partly because of the long brewing method.
