Does anyone out there know what happens to Ag2.5 (97.5Pb) solder when it is subjected to temperature much above its melting point of 304C?
I posted a capacitor silver braze problem on Technet a couple days ago. I provided pictures that showed problems with the solder easily flaking off a ceramic to SST braze joint that was made using Ag2.5 solder.
I have been told that if Ag2.5 solder is subjected to temperature > 800C, it can cause solder joint problems like we saw on the capacitor. Is there any available technical article on this subject?
Does anyone have technical info on corrosion rates for various silver
