But with the foam padding inside of an ordinary swivel assemblers chair, when the operator turns on the chair, lots & lots of volts are generated. Especially so if he/she is wearing Polyester be it underwear or not. To get on the chair she turns it to her, sits on it & then swivels & visa versa to get off.
Connecting the wrist strap just does not happen until she is facing the desk & has built up a nice charge.
So ideally the chairs should be A/S - grounded in some way.
If the floor covering is AS coated, then a simple chain or bare wire to it from the metal frame should suffice. Just like you see at the backs of some cars.
We went through an audit once, they ended up putting AS covers on all the chairs.
All horizontal desk height surfaces should be covered in AS matting etc, because you can bet that at some point they will be used as a temporary bench space.
Now about this naked operator's idea, I wonder how they would respond to it ;-)
So is it cotton undies & little chains all round now?
