Annex item 7 does exempt such solder. It actually says "i.e. tin-lead

solder............" which to me does not limit the alloy to being just

tin-lead.

Subject: [LF] High Lead Exemption

Greetings

I apologize if this has been discussed earlier. I have a question

regarding

the use of PbSn solders containing 85% or greater lead by weight.

1. I understand that this class of solder is currently exempt by

the

RoHS Directive.

2. I also understand that this exemption is ONLY for PbSn, and

other

high lead solder combinations are not exempt yet but the EU parliament

(sun

as PbSnAg, PbSb, PbSbSn, etc)

Please correct me if the above two statements are wrong.

I am interested in understanding the legal ramifications and

consequences of

using high Lead containing PbSn solders. Since Pb is being

intentionally

added in solder form, will the product still be considered RoHS

compliant?

Can the products be marked/sold as being RoHS compliant?

Best Regards

Wasef
