Hi Werner, IPC LF Listservers,
I just read this paper again.
>> Making the 'Centigrade'
>> The inside story of how Motorola qualified a lead-free alloy.
>
>This paper sure does NOT give you any info regarding reliability.
Werner, you are right. They have a nice back end blow up of words (I don't
know the official name for this effect) that describes how concerned
Motorola was with Reliability via ALT (Accelerated Life Test) yet
Motorolla's article doesn't even address the topic with any numbers or
comparisons between pastes.
I guess as a novice reader I am supposed to believe that Henkel
specifically constitued paste for Motorola, proved superior to all other
pastes in all attributes including reliability.
It should have been titled " The - - - - Motorola qualified a lead-free
paste for furthur qualification" and reliability should have been removed.
