Hi Dan, Rick, Temkin, , , IPC LF Listservers,

Gee I missed all the timely fun on this note stream.

So Test Equipment, big stuff, is not included in the WEEE
and then not by the RoHS Directive.

Test Equipment, smaller hand held or portable like XRF,
for which Dan gets a 10 on the got y'all scale,
is also not specifically covered in the present version.

Processing Equipment is also not included.

Rick noted in his note that Airbus and Boeing, Northrup (NGC), etc
were covered yet airplanes, automobiles, farm equipment (JohnDickey),
tanks, , are also not specifically included.

Each of these manufacturers are looking at Pb-free because all of the
components in volume and in new development, which are coming out of
the specified list, are going LF which impacts them. Very Old and
established fasteners and connectors with HexaV Chromium may also be
going away and these manufacturers need to evaluate the substitutes for
details as simple as tighening torque or corrosion product properties.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
