Rob,
Are you using platers tape (i.e. polyimide film) or painter's tape (blue
stuff from down ta da Walmart)? We use the plater's tape because of the
low residues left behind, which is a far greater threat to reliability than
ESD, in my opinion. Many adhesives are either chloride based or silicone
based, neither of which is desirable on coated boards. If ESD is a real
nail biter in your facility, go with the air ionizers.

Is anyone aware of a Conformal Coat ESD Tape that might be available? We
currently use what is essentially painters tape because is does not
leave adhesive residue.

I noticed a post in the archives regarding ionizers at the workstation
which may be an option.

Thanks,

Rob Carrillo
