Hi Gordon, AIM-DavidS, Robin, IPC LF Listservers,

Gordon, I am pretty sure that AIM's David gave you some good links to read
about failures that can occur by mixing metallurgies. I will read them
after I post this note.

Beyond what David gave you, read some of the replies on this list about
Reliability from Werner, Jean-Paul, or our Nortel-Frenchman who is working
through this right now. Hopefully you will understand that first they fix
on a metallurgy, process etc before reliability is estimated.

Also you can read the contrary arguments for "everything is terrific" that
apply to low reliability products that seem to see no reported failures
even if stuck together by chewing gum.

I can't quite give you what you asked for, yet one final place for you to
look is NPL. NPL with the help of some of the UK'rs / SMART is conducting
again another study.

Yours in Engineering, Dave
Y i Engr, MA/NY DDave
