It's not tin/lead to lead-free it tin/lead to RoHS compliance - there is a world of difference.

 

RoHS covers more than lead and components also have to survive elevated process conditions.

 

Transitioning is down to you but involves a lot of bureaucratic legwork to start with identifying compliant parts, possibly redesigning your products and working out how you are going to create an audit trail to prove compliance.

 

If you haven't started yet then you need to get cracking!
