All,
I visited the laminate supplier web-site and they all either talk about
Leadfree or Halogenfree. They are not talking about RoHS compliance. Meaning
we have to go to Halogenfree laminates directly? Are Leadfree laminates RoHS
compliance in general?

1. try it, test it, and prove it - depends on your processes and end
requirements. Apparently some people process Pb-F on phenolic.

2. if you put the requirement on your engineering drawing supplied to
the fab house, maybe include it in your standard purchasing agreement
and request a d of c from the vendor, then you have pretty well
fulfilled your due diligence being there are no real practicable ways to
test for RoHS compliance.

Regards,
Chris

All,

I have heard that Fab Houses are moving directly to Halogenfree process,
skipping middle step knowing that Halogenfree is next in line to be
implemented. As our current fabs are built using laminate made of Tg of
170
C or more with Nickel Gold surface finish, do you see any problem?

Do we have to worry besides updating the fab notes asking for RoHS
compliance? We expect fab house to build products based on impedance
requirement. Any comments, suggestion?
