I have been using pads for RF boards since 1988. There are some packages that are better, but you pay $$$$$$..

If you have some good simulation software to verify impedance, create coupler designs, etched inductors, etc. you can accomplish anything you want with PADS. I have also used Autocad to create special shapes, DXF out, and save them in the PADS library.

Subject: [DC] RF design

Hello everyone

I was wondering if I could inquire of any RF board designers out there as to
what software tools do a better job of handling RF designs. We are probably
looking at a mid range price tool... PADS, PCAD etc... but just wanted to
get an idea of what is the tool of choice.

Thanx
