I'll just add an "AMEN" to Edwards' comments.

Ed,

Good question.....

But I believe the answer is going to boil down to what one grew up on. So is there a good answer?

I grew up on PAD's, and have formally taught the PCAD Class. I have yet to see the latest PCAD version, which from my understanding, has some nice features we've been looking for.

The bulk of the RF work I've done has been on PAD's. I always preferred PADS handling of shapes for Cu issues on RF designs.

I would choose PAD's if given a choice. But then again, it's a personal choice because I grew up on it.

Not sure if this helps. I am looking forward to what others contribute to your thread.

May all your designs be Six Sigma,

Subject: [DC] RF design

Hello everyone

I was wondering if I could inquire of any RF board designers out there as to
what software tools do a better job of handling RF designs. We are probably
looking at a mid range price tool... PADS, PCAD etc... but just wanted to
get an idea of what is the tool of choice.

Thanx
