I saw a video years ago where the manufacturer was bonding kapton (coverlay
with adhesive) with what looked like a small clothes iron. I don't see why
this same technique would not work for a repair.  Since you are bonding to a
relatively flat surface (you don't have to fill copper) it would be worth a
shot. You would need to heat up the coverlay adhesive to the melting point,
apply some pressure and you have a patch. I'm thinking of maybe an LF0220 2
mil Kapton with 2 mils adhesive.
