No demarcation lines between the basis foil and the plated copper.
Demarcation lines generally indicate some issues in electroless or
direct plate, but could also be dielectric material from drilling not
removed by desmear. In either case the bond is weak to the plated
copper and this could create a reliability issue in the field.

I have PTH cross-section images which show a visible interface between
inner
layer foils and the PTH plating. Earlier, similar, board cross-sections
show
no discernable interface - the inner layer foil and the barrel plating
appear to be integral.
What should I see when I have an acceptable PWB?
