Thick can contaminate the solder and make a dull grainy solder connection.

Subject: [TN] cold solder on SMT
I have a connector on a SMT board that has a dull gray appearance. There are
no lead free parts or paste being used. We are trying to discern if the
solder is a cold solder connection. All the other parts have a shiny finish.
The connector is gold plated and all of the lead now appears to be the dull
gray. I would appreciate any thoughts.
Sincerely,
Tammy Chellis
