TechNetters;
I haven't posted much but enjoyed reading many of your postings.
I have been on Mentor for quite some time but now had to climatize to the
tumultuous tech environment
to a company where Protel DXP is being used.
Can I get a show of hands of how many technetters out there use Protel ?? (
I want to see how well-versed the tech-net
User base is for Protel users..I know there are many for Mentor.
What is the fastest way to come up to speed on it ??? ( i.e. training
course, other users train me, self, tutorials)
Are there any self-train tutorials on the Altium web-site one can recommend
?
Is it an intuitive to learn program ? ( I know from experience, that MGC is
tough to learn on your own)
Are there separate user groups one can join for Protel ?
I have about 2-3 months to become proficient so, being a self-starter, want
to pick the most optimum
route (no pun intended) for myself.
Already I notice that it is weak on the documentation side ( generating fab,
assy drawings) whereas Mentor really
shines in that area. With MGC you can generate very professional looking
drawings.
Many Thanks
TDK
