Is storing at 20-25deg.C in violation of the manufacturer's specification? What is the shelf life at 20-25deg.C?

Hello Rob,

I would recommend storing such a solvent based Acrylic conformal coating
between 20-25deg.C ideally, thereby having it ready to use in your
application. Any colder and you may have to wait a long time before it is at
operating/application temperature, particularly in 25litre drums. Any hotter
and you may suffer more rapid, undesirable evaporative losses of the
solvent, also causing higher odour levels.

Storing at this temperature means the viscosity is then controlled ready for
use straight out of the drum, as supplied. As you may know, a change of
5cps in viscosity can cause immense problems in selective coating
applications.

If odour and flammability limits are your reasons for cold storage, then
maybe you could address this by looking at a water based Acrylic ?

Hope this helps,

        Hi Rob:
There are plenty of inexpensive industrial refrigerators Hook up a
chart recorder to it and keep it at the temp you want. We use them for some
glues.
        Regards,

I am looking for some recommendations on how to store HumiSeal 1B73 under
the revised storage temp. of +10°C. We purchase the item in 5 gallon drums
and keep it at point of use. Refrigeration in the work cell may prove
difficult. Any suggestions would be appreciated unless we repackage into
smaller containers.
