Well, technically Dewey, ham only happens "when pigs die".......

Was the unit returned from the field a "ham radio"?

Does the nature of this thread go from FOD Prevention to FOOD
Prevention?.....

Hence the saying "that will only happen when pigs fly".

A company I worked at once had a piece of equipment returned from the
field,
failed in flight.

During our investigation we found a piece of ham from a sandwich inside the
unit, causing the failure.

About that time we implemented a policy of no eating or drinking at your
workstation.

I went through FOD questions a couple years ago with Boeing. I asked the
guy
if they had ever found anything with our product. The answer was no. No
more
questions.

Yeah Jason...'member the Chiefs barking at us during FOD walkdown; "Hands
out of your pockets! Eyes down on the deck!!!"

I thought that the Navy was the last time I would hear that. But, we just
got asked about our FOD control procedures during a recent audit by Bell
Helicopter/Textron. We addressed it here by showing them our emphasis to
5-S, and
our standing "Take the last 30-minutes of your shift to clean your area."
That
seemed to satisfy them...but they did say it would be nice if we had a
"formal" procedure...

Man, I haven't heard that term since my USN days.

Good day Technet:
I'm looking for a training video for FOD (foreign object debris, or
foreign
object damage) prevention, specifically for electronics manufacturing.
Any
recommendations?
