Frank:

I know of board shops that swear by the Perfect Test system.  These tend to
be larger companies that have the resources to throw at it.  Some
consideration:
-You have to give up some real estate on the panel to place the coupon.
-You will be adding on a fair amount of drill hits
-You will have to read and analyse the data
-You will have to put this back into CAM to adjust scaling.
This should all be a closed loop system

One company I heard of in the Northeast (No longer in business) had
registration dialed in for every layup; including panel size, core thickness
and even the prepreg used against the core.

I think most companies, if they add this coupon to the panel, program the
coupon seprately so they can turn off the coupon when the panel is in
production. (after testing)l

There are a number of these systems available through used equipment
dealers.
