The word "hyponatremia" got some publicity when somebody died in the late
stages of the Boston Marathon a few years back.

Basically, if you drink ONLY water (DI or otherwise) your body will run out
of electrolytes unless you put them back. So the Road Runners Club of
America advises marathoners to make sure they drink some Gatorade or other
such stuff as well as lots of water. Seems simple enough.
