Amines often come off with D.I. water which could cause cause corrosion
under the correct conditions. This is one reason I wouldn't drink D.I.
water.

I don't know why there's so much discussion about drinking d.i. water but I
know of several instances where some contaminent introduced from d.i. water
made by inline deionizing columns caused PC boards to etch in an
environmental chamber. There were also problems with beads from the columns
getting into the d.i. water stream.
