Interesting comment...

I remember we had an electrical de-ionizing unit at EMCON, years and years
ago... (they are now owned by Kyocera) and I don't remember any caustic
chemicals in the process... Just a RO filter and an electrical connection to
the unit... it must have worked because the water would not conduct
electrical current after processing, which is one way you can test to see if
the water has any impurities that are conductive in it... pure water is an
insulator. Its all the minerals and contaminates that make it conductive.

I can't see how it would hurt someone to drink it... very strange... indeed.

(It's not Friday yet is it?)

Do Not Drink DI water. It will do some serious damage. For my part, I
wouldn't be comfortable drinking water that comes out of a tube that was
recently filled with liquid caustic or concentrated sulfuric acid. These are
the materials in the columns that water is passed through to get DI water.

Subject: [TN] DI Water

Dear Technetters,

As a joke, someone asked me what would happen if they drank DI water and it
started me thinking. Is DI Water potable?

Thank you,
