How big is the board or what parts are around it on the bottom? You can use
a high temp tape to mask off the area that you don't want solder to touch.
If you have alot, maybe make a wave fixture with hold downs to mask off the
area.

Yes you can use a flow well and a directional nozzle. We do this all the
time here when we rework boards.

Subject: Re: [TN] Removal of Connector
Hi Technetters,
I am facing an issue with a board of 10 layers and 2mm thick, gold plated.
I need to remove a 72 pin through hole connector. However, I am not able to
remove the connector using solder iron & solder sucker.
I understand if I am to use solder pot, I should be able to remove it. But
I do not have a mini-solder pot.
I am wandered if there is other way to take out the connector. Can someone
help to advise me other methods to remove the connector.
Thanks.
Poh
