Hi Siggi,

I have asked this question in the past,

There is no magic number, its depend with the PCB complexity (layers count,
Tg, Td, ) , materials, quality, rework profiles, drying condition before
rework, cycles time etc.

I estimate (from experience ) that 6 thermal cycles are still OK.

Don't forget to inspect the PCB quality at the end of the process (not only
counting the cycles).
Best Regards

Hello

I read a IPC standard about BGA repair some months ago, but cannot get the
number.
I am looking for some statements how many BGA repairs were allowed on one
assembly (on different positions as well as on the same position).

Who can help?

Best regards

Siggi
