Steve,

Congrats!!! You can get in contact with Gregg Owens, here's his e-mail
address, [log in to unmask] It's Manufacturing Technology Training
Center, Inc., Mira Loma, Ca 91752. Phone # 909-360-1324. The center's
e-mail address is www.mttc-inc.com. I attended his course. It's at least
a 40 hr course, with homework, course manuals and everything. You're
issued an IPC Registered Instructor number also. After you return from
taking the course suddenly everyone in your plant will have forgotten most
everything they previously knew about J-STD-001. Hope this helps. Mainly
I think they're just checking to see if you really did learn something or
if you just had a weeks vacation. I actually learned a lot more than I
thought I would.

Subject: [TN] IPC J-STD-001 Certified Trainer Courses...

Hey Everybody!

I've just been approached here at work, to become our certified J-Std-001
Trainer. I know there's hundreds of organizations that offer this training
and
certification. Do any of you have a favorite company that does this?
Someone
that really is interested in making sure that you have the skills to
become a
certified trainer instead of just meeting the minimum requirements. I
honestly don't want this to be a gimme...if you know what I mean.

I don't mean to downplay anybody's curriculum, but I know that there may
some that are better than others... I'd be interested to hear from you
all.

I also think that it would be a good thing that if I'm going to be our
J-STD-001 Instructor, I should become certified to train to the -7721
repair
standards...do you disagree?
