Joe;

We have a Krypton lamp pumped Uv Yag laser that uses DI water to maintain
laser cavity temperature @ 95F. The unit that accomplishes the heat up and
temperature control is a brazed plate type heat exchanger made by ITT
Standard. You could use a closed type system of a normal water heater, which
would flow through the heat exchanger to heat the circulating DI water. Not
sure if this type of setup would be cheaper or cost effective for you, but
may be worth a look to see if you can engineer a more cost effective setup.

   Here is ITT's url: http://www.ittstandard.com/default.asp

A web search turned up these companies:

www.heateflex.com
www.hubbellheaters.com
www.lufran.com
www.kimmonquartz.com
www.certechproducts.com
www.treborintl.com

Someone is selling this Mitsubishi DI water heater unit on Ebay:

  Good luck.

Subject: DI water heaters

Good morning.

We are in the process of purchasing a batch cleaner for cleaning circuit
boards and I need to also purchase a relatively small (3 GPM, 1 minute on, 1
minute off, 150 F) DI water heater for the rinse water. Would someone be so
kind as to recommend a company that supplies "low cost" DI water heaters, or
a source of a used DI water heater. I did not realize that they are so
expensive relative to a standard household type water heater. thanks

joe
