I've filled out the original IPC-1720 before (that's when each section was a individual template), most everything is pretty straight forward. I still have to transfer all the information to the -1720A.

If you look in section 10, there's an example of one filled out. Also, there's a glossary in section 10 that describes most of the terms used, and defines what they mean by the different assembly types.

Yeah, it's a bit of a pain to fill out the first time, but once it's done, it's easy to maintain it to stay current as time passes.

Like you, we were asked for it once and completed it. Now we offer it to all our potential customers, and I've always noticed that when we provide a -1720 to them without them asking, they seem pretty impressed. So it's worth the trouble of filling it out.
