I like using the top because for the folder that the posts from this group are stored in
I use the preview pane in Outlook & top posted replies makes it a lot easier to read them.
If I cannot follow the thread then it is easy enough to scroll further down.
But then I have never subscribed to the need to bottom post.

Hi All,
I'm NOT complaining, just curious. Most news groups frown
on "Top Posting". A quick web search on the subject gave some
pretty firm advice on avoiding the practice. I notice that top posting
is the norm on this forum.
I could care less. I find the information and goodwill within this
group somewhere above excellent. I just remain curious if others
in this group have any strong feelings on the matter.
I felt safe to ask the question today - Friday always seems to be
a safe time to get some slack on this type of thing! Happy Friday.
