Pacific Northwest Chapter of the IPC Designers Council presents:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Impact of Lead-Free and the EU RoHS Directives
                Portland, Oregon * November 17, 2004
Hosted by Radisys Corporation, Hillsboro, OR
---------------------------------------------------------------------
                           Course Details
---------------------------------------------------------------------
This presentation will be presented by Rob Rowland, the Process and
Supplier Engineering Manager at RadiSys Corporation in Hillsboro,
Oregon.

The RoHS Directive will ban placement into the EU market of new
electrical and electronic equipment containing more than designated
maximum allowable levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent
chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl
ether (PBDE) flame retardants, effective July 1, 2006.

RoHS works in conjunction with the EU WEEE Directive. Manufacturers
will need to ensure that their products, parts and components comply
with RoHS in order to be distributed and sold in the EU. Reference
RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

In this course for layout professionals, this presentation will share
the implications that these restrictions will have on processes,
materials and equipment including actual applications and the results.
Also to be addressed will be the requirements in manufacturing and the
actual process resulting from decisions implemented during the
beginning phases.

This presentation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm at Radisys Corporation,
5445 NE Dawson Creek Dr., Hillsboro, OR 97124-5797 Registration and
dinner is at 5:30 PM.

To help cover costs, a small fee of $5 will be charged to non-Designers
Council Chapter members. For Designers Council Chapter members, there
is no fee.
