Hi Ramon!
The board doesn't get coated. Yes, we are asking (recommending) to our customer that some added support is needed to prevent the part and pads being ripped up.
We are recommending a themal cure epoxy from Master Bond, their Polymer System Supreme 10HT. We use it on other assemblies for corner bonding QFP's and other IC's for vibration...this stuff should work well.
Ya' know, this incident is pretty typical about these kind of problems. You never find out about them until after you build the boards...oh well.

HI Steve:
Once it is coated the part is attached better to the board. Except that there is a need for a mechanical force applied to it before it happens. This board is built special so special steps need to be taken. Have you consider a couple of drops of glue one on each side?
Regards,
Ramon
