FR5 has additional heat resistance and a higher decomposition temperature
(~350C) than FR4 (~310C) as well as a lower change in storage modulus
(flexure) at elevated temperatures (~260C or 288C), all of this with a
slight increase in price over FR4. It is sometimes harder to drill and
desmear and can be brittle. Past use has been for 'Burn-In Boards"
subjected to constant higher temperatures than FR4 but a lower price than
BT, polyimide or cyanate ester laminates.

Technetters,

An A-grade question, to allow you all an easy answer:

While asking for FR4 with high Tg and high Td material I was answered
with data sheet of FR5 material. What is the difference between FR4 and
FR5? Anything to look for? Price differences? Something?
