As my kids have grown up I reminded them that I did not create the
English language which has too many special rules, special
pronunciations. Oh, and then there are the words that are spelled the
same and pronounced differently.

Here is a brain teaser. What is spelled the same, but with a capital
letter is a place.

Polish versus polish.

Why is it that when I watch anything on TV that has American's talking
about soldering, that they call it "sodder" or "soddering" ??

(I'm not wanting to have a go at ya'all, just curious about why its
called
that).

Matthew.
