        Bob:
Place them in containers that hold a known amount. Then count the containers.
        One of many possibilities.

Subject: [TN] Counting Items Manually

Dear Technetters:

Here's an interesting human factors/industrial engineering problem I am sure
we all face...

What is the best way to manually count items that are very customized (ie
they cannot be counted by weight, nor be bar-coded). I am sure you have
experienced first hand them number of "answers" or counts you can get on
counting 100 PCBS, 300 BGAs or 400 mechanical assemblies.

Does anyone have a good idea how make these manual counts more "uniform".

Regards

Bob Wettermann
