Yes OSP is used on Automotive products - Delphi has for years run OSP on all
types of modules found in the car including ECM's under hood.
If you mean electrolytic plated gold then the color will be a function of
deposit thickness, quality of the gold bath, ASF used to plate, impurities
in the bath, the amount of Nickel deposited and more importantly the surface
preparation of the underlying copper.
I am not aware of any such color shade chart.

Subject: [TN] OSP and Gold

Hi Techneters,
I've got some questions, please .
1. Does anybody use OSP on PCB for automotive assemblies and is it
reliable enough ?
2. Can the galvanic gold-plated pads have different colour shade
from various manufacturers and is the gold-colour shade important for
the proper contact ?
3. Is there any note of gold-colour shade in the IPC standards ?
4.
Very thanks for answers
