        A dissipative floor eliminates the build up of static charge, which it is what damages the ICs. A conductive floor would do the same but with the added effect of being hazardous to the operators because they would be exposed to electric shock from electrically connected equipment. I'm not sure why it would matter whether it's a
cleanroom or not, but I don't think a conductive floor
is very safe.  With a lot of electrical equipment lying
around, a conductive floor would be like having everyone
standing around in a permanent puddle of water.

Our floor is tested to the same requirements as our
workbench surfaces, which is nominal one megohm to ground.

(microelectronics assembly), which is more appropriate, a conductive floor
or a dissipative floor (and why)?
