Al,

What are the guideline for gold finger plating. I recall a distance
measurement which I fail to retain. All I do remember is that any
small PTH copper barrel adjacent to the gold finger could not be
compromise due to the gold plating chemistry, copper barrel thickness
etching. Any help you cam lend on this topic will be greatly
appreciated, especially an industry standard.

Victor,

Chad,

The G10/FR4 type you remember are made by Stevens Products @
973-672-2140

Their web site is: http://www.stevensproducts.com/cguard.htm

We've used them for years. Many different (off-the-shelf and custom)
sizes for goldfingers, connector protectors, board edge stiffeners.

Technetters,

Anybody know of a good source for goldfinger protection? I seem to
remember one exhibiting at Apex a few years back. Have a customer that
is currently taping them off and of course is looking for an easier more
cost effective way to mask. If I remember right they were made out of
G-10/FR-4 type material.

Thanks,

Chad Haima
